Osmosis treatments
By osmosis, water can enter the hull of a vessel through the gel coat. When this happens, there is a reaction behind the gel coat creating pressure which causes blisters and eventually cracking. Once this happens, the underlying laminate absorbs water like a sponge, which then starts to compromise the hull.
We can help you protect against this with an osmosis treatment, in which we will:
- Strip off the old gel coat
- Clean the surface area of the hull to remove surface osmotic impurities
- Dry the hull to a recognised standard
- Fill and coat the hull
- Apply antifoul to the hull
